How to use the calculator

What to know before using the result

Is my STEP file uploaded to calculate its weight?
No. Solid parsing and weight calculation run locally in the browser. Sending the part to a Fabworks quote is a separate action you control.
Why does a STEP file fail to calculate?
Surface-only models, open shells, malformed exports, unsupported entities, or files without a supported closed solid may not contain usable volume.
Are holes, cutouts, and bends included?
Yes, when they are represented in a successfully parsed closed solid. Coatings, hardware, and other unmodeled details remain excluded.
